What is ‘Summer in Leicester Square’?

Summer in Leicester Square is a pop-up outdoor event featuring a big screen showing blockbuster films and summer sporting events. There’s also a licensed bar and a confectionery stall selling strawberries and cream, popcorn, candy floss and sweets.

Where is the event located?

You’ll find us right in Leicester Square Gardens. Look for the big screen — you can’t miss it!

Do I need to book tickets in advance?

No. All screenings are free and un-ticketed, and the park remains open as usual during the park’s normal summer opening hours.

What films and sports will be shown?

We’re showing a variety of popular films and live sporting events (including Wimbledon and Women’s Euros). Follow us on Instagram for the latest schedule.

Is seating provided?

Yes! Deck chairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend arriving early to secure a good spot.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

Yes! You’re more than welcome to bring in food from the surrounding businesses although we also have a bar selling a range of alcoholic and soft drinks and a confectionery stall selling all your favourites. Due to licensing restrictions, alcoholic drinks not purchased on-site cannot be consumed.

What are the opening hours?

The park is open during the normal opening hours. The bar opens at midday on weekdays and 10am on weekends.

Is the event family-friendly?

Absolutely! The event is open to all ages. Some evening screenings (which will have a 12A classification will require children under 12 to be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Is the venue accessible?

Yes, the site is wheelchair accessible, and an accessible toilet is available.

What happens if it rains?

The event will go ahead rain or shine, so bring suitable clothing. However, in extreme weather, updates will be posted on our social media and website.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, as long as they’re well behaved!
